The detail work that makes a room
Finish carpentry is the last layer, and it's the one your eye lands on. We hang doors that swing true and latch clean. We run casing, base, and crown with tight miters and joints that stay closed. We build out wainscoting, paneled walls, and custom built-ins — shelving, window seats, mantels — that fit the space instead of fighting it.
This is patient work. Scribing to an out-of-square wall, coping an inside corner, setting reveals consistent down a whole hallway — none of it shows when it's done right, and all of it shows when it isn't. Built by hand, measured to last.
Framed space to finished room
On new construction and additions, we take the interior from studs and subfloor to a room you'd want to stand in. Doors and hardware, window and door casing, base and crown, closet systems, and the trim details that tie it all together. One crew handles it start to finish, so the casing meets the base the way it should and nobody's pointing fingers at the next trade.
Older Maine homes rarely give you a plumb wall or a square corner. That's normal, and it's exactly what finish carpentry is for — hiding the house's quirks behind clean, deliberate lines.

Do you do trim and finish work on existing homes, or only new builds?
Both. We do new-construction interior finish from framed space to finished room, and we do trim upgrades and repairs in homes that are already lived in — adding crown, replacing tired casing and base, building in shelving, or fixing trim that's pulled apart over the years.
Can you match the existing trim profiles in an older house?
In most cases, yes. Many common profiles are still available, and where they aren't we find the closest match or work out a detail that blends in. Older Maine homes are rarely square, so part of the job is scribing and fitting new trim so it looks original, not patched.
